EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, distressing memories, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. It works by allowing the brain to reprocess painful experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or stuck.
When something traumatic or highly stressful happens, our brains don’t always process it in a healthy or complete way. EMDR helps "unstick" these memories by using bilateral stimulation — often through guided eye movements, sounds, or tapping — while focusing on specific thoughts, emotions, or body sensations. This process supports the brain’s natural healing ability and can reduce the emotional charge of past events.
People often find relief from:
PTSD and trauma
Anxiety and panic
Grief and loss
Negative self-beliefs
Phobias and performance anxiety
I am trained in EMDR and incorporate it into therapy when it’s a good fit for your goals and readiness. We always move at your pace, and safety and trust are at the center of the process.
